I thought it was a good idea...

I can't keep up two blogs, so I'm consolidating WUTRC and this one. So, look for pics over there, because that's the only one I really want to update.

New Mac

So, I've been playing with my new computer, and this is the first thing I figured out.

I took this photo,which was taken of me on halloween of my halloween makeup, and I made it into this:

It was so much fun, and while it's not perfect, I'm practicing with what I've got. I've got to figure out how to save the original and the modified photo. I've still got a lot of programs to load that came with the computer, and I've got a lot to learn. I can't wait till I'm done with school to get everything sorted out. In other news, I'll post a photo from a canoeing trip my mom and dad and I took, plus a couple others. That'll liven this blog up a bit.

What I'm missing when I stay grounded.

This is from the Hilton Hotel Resort in Myrtle Beach. It's the first time I've been higher than 2 floors. We were on the 15th floor. Since I don't fly, I've never seen the ocean from up high. It's a lot different.

Half Way

This is the painting halfway done. It's dry now, and i'm trying to determine how I want to do the next bit.

OIL!!!!

You remember that painting I did not too long ago where I was struggling with it and I hated it? Yeah, figured out the problem. Acrylics have not ever and probably will not ever be the medium of choice for me. I'm all about the OILS baby. I learned to paint with oils, and I miss them dearly, so I dug out my (VERY) old set of oils, and I started working on the same painting, new canvas, new medium. I think next time, though, I'll do the slower time lapse. Every 2 seconds instead of every second. This seems to go awfully fast. Also, here's some photos I took that kindof look like the background of my painting.








I'll take a picture of it when it dries. It's in the oven right now.
